An Alaskan Grows Cold Toward Sarah Palin

September 4, 2008 by BlueGrassRoots

I am stoked to have my only Alaskan friend's thoughts on Sarah Palin and her speech last night.  After reading Ben Cooper's essay below, I'm sure you will be, too.  Here we go:

Alaska, it should be said, is not Sarah Palin.

Listening to her speak last night at the Republican Convention, I was impressed by how together and how on message she was.  "This is going to work for some people," I kept thinking.  Like how she at one point quickly dismissed Miranda rights as if she had co-written the Patriot Act.  This from a public figure who has an open abuse of power investigation still on-going, one that she has managed to dodge and delay for some time.  But who cares?  America loved it from Sarah Palin, our new Mother-in-Chief.  She will protect us.  Just trust her.

Dear Senators Obama and Biden…

It looks like you two want to play nice with the McCain/Palin Camp, going into the election.  That would be a classy move, but after last night, are you still convinced that you are dealing with equally classy people? Because if lame responses like Senator Biden’s on “Morning Joe” Scarborough are any indication, it would appear that the Democrats are trying to lose a race that is their’s to win.

Regardless of your political platform, I would like to think that you’re in this thing to win it all.  You have endured attacks on yourself as an elitist, arrogant, celebrated political celebrity who has no experience in the political arena because you were a community organizer without any real responsibilities, according to Sarah Palin in her speech last night.

Your beautiful wife, Michelle, is attacked as an educated but angry, militant, AK-47 carrying, Afro-wearing 21st Century Version of Angela Davis, and the women in the Democratic Party do not come to her defense or say shyt to the GOP, the New Yorker, or any other print and visual media to get them to come correct.

How many times has the Democratic Party had the table laid and set and thought all they have to do is SHOW UP but instead of showing up, they WIMP OUT?

RNC08: Black Republicans Not In Love with Sarah Palin

September 4, 2008 by Jack and Jill P...

Wow. Could not have said it better myself. There remains a stereotype that African-Americans have poor morals. If Barack Obama’s daughter were pregnant, you’d better believe that pundits would be tsk-tsking the dysfunctional “black family” and there would be plenty of b-roll of black pregnant teens in our public schools with talk about the single black welfare queens & the national burden they create. That’s the double standard — Palin is permitted to individualize where Obama is not.

Plus, I cannot believe that no one is asking questions about Palin’s patriotism given her and her husband’s card-carrying membership in a local party advocating Alaskan secession! Are you kidding me? But don’t take my word for it. A Black Republican turns the table on the Sarah “A Star is Born” Palin narrative and asks some serious questions of his own party. A brother just couldn’t take it anymore and I’m feelin’ him on some salient, blistering points here.

Beware The Double Standard

September 1, 2008 by Jack and Jill P...

Now that its confirmed that McCain’s VP candidate has a teenaged pregnant daughter, I will go on record and say that this development is not a cause for celebration, or jubilation, and yes, I’m fully aware of the hypocracy of it all.

What I want to flush out is the DOUBLE STANDARD in this political campaign.

For the last year, I’ve watched Senator Barack Obama run a campaign equivalent to guarding Fort Knox, and yet, the Mainstream Media would rather continue to pick on him, his friends (face it, he’s losing them because every time the media digs up something stupid or controversial they say, he gets rid of them), his wife and family because of the obvious.

Obama: "I'm Offended" By McCain Camp's Insinuation About Pregnancy Rumors

September 1, 2008 by admin

Obama smacks back at the anonymous McCain aide's suggestion of ties between Obama and the rumors that Trig Palin is actually the son of Sarah Palin's daughter:

Asked about the insinuation from the McCain campaign that the liberal bloggers trafficking in rumors about Palin write for websites that mention Obama, the senator said, "I'm offended by that."

The Democratic presidential nominee said, "There is no evidence at all that any of this involved us."...

"Our people were not involved in any way in this and they will not be. And if I ever thought that it was somebody in my campaign that was involved in something like that, they'd be fired."

Of course, the McCain campaign never even had to make this absurd allegation on the record, because Reuters so generously let an anonymous McCain aide do it.
