Statement released from Eric Griego Campaign:
Democrat for New Mexico’s 1st Congressional District open seat Eric Griego announced today endorsements from three leading Democratic state legislators: South Valley legislator and State House Appropriations Committee Chairman Henry “Kiki” Saavedra, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Richard Martinez, and renewable energy leader State Senator Steve Fischmann.
Their endorsement increases to 12 the number of Eric Griego’s endorsements from current state and local elected officials, the most of any candidate in the race.
Statement by State Representative Henry “Kiki” Saavedra, Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee:
“As a fellow elected representative from the South Valley, I’ve worked closely with Eric Griego on numerous legislation to try to improve the lives of families in our community. Eric is a native son of the South Valley who really understands the needs and aspirations of the community and has always stood up for South Valley residents. That’s why I proudly endorse his candidacy for U.S. Congress, and I can’t think of a better advocate for our community to represent us in Washington than this fighter’s fighter.”

Sierra Club Endorses Eric Griego Campaign for New Mexico’s 1st Congressional District!
Original Author:
Democracy for New Mexico

The state and national Sierra Club endorsed my campaign for New Mexico’s 1st Congressional District! I’m especially proud that their endorsement resulted from a unanimous vote from the Sierra Club’s New Mexico Chapter Executive Committee and to be only the second endorsement given so far by the Sierra Club in the 2012 federal election cycle.
The Sierra Club’s endorsement recognizes my strong and consistent record of working to create clean energy jobs and to promote a healthy environment. Taken together with the endorsement by Conservation Voters New Mexico, their support solidifies me as the clear champion for the environment in this race.
