Immigration Law: How Alabama Legislators Voted On HB56

A few days ago on facebook, a friend raised the question of who, exactly, voted for the Beason-Hammon Immigration Law, or HB56. Since pulling the information out of the Legislature's database isn't easy for most people, I promised to post the House and Senate roll calls for passage of HB56.  Those are below the fold.

In the wake of the Penn State scandal, several Wisconsin legislators will reintroduce a bill to make it easier for victims of childhood sexual assault sue the perpetrators.

The lgislators should ask now-US Senator Ron Johnson to come and support the bill - - unlike the last time when he claimed the measure would hurt job creators.

The Hotline's Senate Seat Rankings include New Mexico's hotly contested Senate seat which is being vacated by Senator Bingaman.

The Hotlines method of arriving at these conclusions is explained as such, "Our complex methodology includes a delicate balance of poll numbers, both public and private; fundraising performance; message resonance; buzz on the trail; and, the key ingredient, our gut feelings. From those five factors, we answer a fundamental question...."

They go on to say, "The ultimate conclusions are subjective, of course, and we promise they endear us to neither side. But they represent months of close scrutiny of each race, and our best conclusions as to where the Senate is headed in the 113th Congress."
