'Don't put me in, Coach' -- Monday morning quarterback Paul Ryan
Paul Ryan says it's frustrating that the Congressional supercommittee couldn't agree on a solution to reducing national debt.
“It's another missed, wasted opportunity,” he said.
Ryan, of course, asked NOT to be appointed to the committee, preferring to be a Monday morning quarterback.

Sensenbrenner rips Ryan for vote on balanced budget amendment
Big Jim Sensenbrenner, Wisconsin Congressman from hell, goes after those who voted against a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution:
My colleagues ... who voted against this amendment are either burying their heads in the sand or trying to misrepresent this effort to score political points.
Thing is -- and this has got to be somewhat embarrassing for Big Jim -- one of the "no" votes was from his side of the aisle. A guy from Wisconsin. A buddy of his. A guy named Paul Ryan.

It's a mad, mad, mad world of guns out there
There is something about a spate of recent gun-related stories in the news media that makes it seem like we're living in some kind of Bizarro World, an alternative reality, a Wonderland where up is down.
Within the last week, here's what passed for normal: A Milwaukee area gun store, which has twice lost its license for violating federal firearms law, continues to operate while the license is simply passed from one family member to another. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, which has written extensively about the operation, reports:
Badger Guns and its predecessor, Badger Outdoors, have been the top sellers of crime guns recovered by Milwaukee police for at least the past decade, according to Milwaukee police data obtained by the Journal Sentinel. In less than two years, six Milwaukee police officers were wounded with guns sold by Badger Guns or Badger Outdoors. Four of those officers are suing the owners.
