There will be some familiar faces on the program ...
Joining us on the program to discuss Wallace and his political career, as well as the politics, culture, history, and relevance of the time period are:
• Dan T. Carter: Author of “The Politics of Rage”
• Dr. Joe L. Reed: Chairman, Alabama Democratic Conference
• Peggy Wallace Kennedy – daughter of George Wallace
Should be a very interesting discussion. If you miss the The Contenders: George Wallace tonight at 7 pm, the 2 hour program will re-air at 10 pm and Sunday at 10:30 am.
Scott Walker and Mitt Romney: The dog ate their homework
What is this penchant for secrecy that Republicans have? And their highly visible floutings of open records laws, which never seem to produce any legal retribution?
First, it was Scott Walker. Now, it's Mitt Romney.
Let's visit the Romney issue first. Before seeking the GOP presidential nomination, Romney was governor of Massachusetts. It is now clear that, as CrooksAndLiars.com puts it:
At the end of Romney's term as governor, Romney's staffers destroyed emails, sold publicly-owned hard drives to staffers, and made sure no digital tracks were left behind. This action flies in the face of public records laws in Massachusetts, which require that electronic records be preserved for state archives.
And what's truly egregious is that it's Romney himself who's now revealing this. Why did it happen? From ThinkProgress.org:

Martinez's "Super Committee" Gives Commission Just One Option to Approve Governor's Handcrafted Process Gives 25 Year Multimillion Dollar Contract to Big Donor
The State Fair Commission's "surprise" vote yesterday afternoon to award a big Martinez donor a multimillion dollar state contract was no surprise at all to members of the public and State Fair Commission.
Occupied quote of the week
From economist and Clinton labor secretary Robert Reich, in a column this week:
I remember the days when even raising the subject of inequality made you a “class warrior.” Now, it seems, most Americans have become class warriors.
