Sheriff David Clarke, a rabid right-wing conservative who runs as a Democrat because that's the only way he could elected in Milwaukee County, survived a strong primary challenge last fall, winning with only 53% of the vote.
Chris Moews (pictured), a Milwaukee police lieutenant who ran against him, is already mounting a campaign for the 2014 primary, the next time Clarke has to face the voters (provided his ego doesn't take over and convince him to run for mayor or county executive or president.)
Moews (pronounced Moews) has a campaign website and page, and has scheduled a fundraiser for next week, almost three years before the election.

Talk Radio Civil Discourse Failure Of The Day
Original Author:
(James Rowen)
There's no reason for 620 WTMJ-AM righty radio talker Charlie Sykes this morning to call State Rep. Fred Kessler (D-Milwaukee) "Red Fred," except that he can.
Note that it comes in the middle of Sykes criticizing State Sen. Lena Taylor, (D-Milwaukee), for what he called her uncivil remarks at a hearing on the
Voter ID bill yesterday.
Gov. Eagle Scout (Walker) May Tilt Recall Process Towards His Own Survival
Original Author:
(James Rowen)
A compliant legislature is offering Scott Walker the chance to
take more control of the state's recall machinery just as the process is about to be aimed squarely his way.
The move would allow Walker to halt a policy developed by nonpartisan election officials that, at least in theory, could make it easier for groups to gather signatures to recall the governor, as well as legislators from either party.
