This will be the liveblog of tonight's 75th Legislative District Candidate Forum. Who will replace Kathy Stein? Tonight will decide, I suppose. Until the forum, please feel free to continue commenting on the race. More info on the contested nomination can be found here, here, here, here, and here. Have at it, folks. Be back at 6pm...

6:20pm - here at Memorial hanging with some precinct officers and friends. I'll clue you in on something...people like Kelly Flood

6:32 - David O'Neill opening remarks. thanks to everyone, etc. etc. Jesse Crenshaw will be moderating the Q&A. Kathy Stein is going to kick some ass in November... just noticed that Alison Grimes made up a bunch of buttons that people are wearing. Is that even appropriate in this situation? I don't know, maybe I have a skewed vision of how things should go.

The Fayette County Democratic Party (FCDP) has closed the application period for potential nominees for the 75th Legislative District seat occupied for the last 12 years by Rep. Kathy Stein.  The FCDP invited five (5) individuals to participate in a public candidate forum on Wednesday, August 6th:  Mike Finucane; Kelly Flood; Alison Lundergan Grimes; Foster Ockerman, Jr.; and Lamin Swann.

Each potential candidate had been required to complete a personal data questionnaire and provide three (3) letters of recommendation.  Other materials in support of their nomination were optional, including a professional resume and a single-page candidacy paper.

All of these materials have been hand-delivered to each potential candidate, and sent via U.S. Mail to each FCDP precinct committee member within the 75th Legislative District.

After the jump, you can read a limited amount of information that we instructed potential candidates would be made public.  (Potential candidates’ optional brief public statements: HERE.)
