AFL-CIO, Trumka Head to Ohio Following Convention
The National AFL-CIO and its newly elected officers, including likely President Richard Trumka, head to Cleveland this Friday to kick-off their new effort to rebuild America.
As the first stop following this week's convention in Pittsburgh, the AFL-CIO will be holding a rally at the Great Lakes Science Center, 601 Erieside Ave, near the Wind Turbine (which was built by skilled Union workers). The event begins Friday at Noon.
Following the event in Cleveland, the officers will fan out across the state for other events in Dayton, Columbus, Youngstown, and Warren.
(Editor's note: Trumka and other officers are to be voted on this Thursday. However, all indications are that he will be the overwhelming favorite and win easily. We jumped the gun a bit in calling him the "new President")
It Must Be True
Matthew Arnold, a famous 19th century literary critic, is credited with saying, "If you say something three times, then it's true." Consider George W. Bush quotes asserting the existence of Iraq's WMD program, and its imminent threat to the United States' homeland security:
- "...because deterrence may not succeed ... U.S.
A Pig With Lipstick a Republican Presidential Running Mate
oops, did I say that, wrong heading folks. I should be ashamed of myself, but I'm not.
Well it looks like the folks who are advising Brack Obama are finally doing like I suggested yesterday in my post, Barack is finally hitting back (well... somewhat).
He needs to stop playing jump rope and double dutch with Mccain and Palin. playing jump rope won't win him the election. American's want someone tough in the White House. it's time for Barack to show he is tough. I told you I'm not the only one wanting Barack to take off the gloves. Terence Samuel, the highly respected Deputy Editor of The Root is providing his own observations on this issue. In his post, Slaughter The Pig. Terence Samuel says, "Team Obama needs to break out the knives and start rolling in the mud, too." Here is more of what Terence Samuel has to say:

New Obama Ad: McCain "Doesn't Understand" Education
The Obama campaign has launched this new ad against John McCain, hitting McCain for voting to cut education funding and having an economic plan that would take money away from public schools. "John McCain doesn't understand," the announcer says sternly:
There is quite the way-beyond-a-buzz happening on the internet over allegations that Trig Palin is not Todd and Sarah's child, but belongs to Bristol Palin and an unknown father.
That's not how I've been hearing it for the last few months at all. As a matter-of-fact, I've been hearing that Trig is very much Todd and Sarah's child while Bristol Palin is actually pregnant now.
More than one Alaska blogger has received tips, emails, comments, etc...alleging that Bristol Palin has been pregnant since last spring, when she was moved out of the Valley to Anchorage to continue high school (allegedly away from the father of her unborn child).
A commenter at Alaska Mudflats called Sue Williams who claims to be a neighbor of the Palins gives this story:
