The concern troll hosts on Morning Joe are on a roll

I know, I know, what do we expect from the folks on the cable news channels since they have to fill convention content 24/7.

I flipped on the TV while getting dressed this AM, and Morning Joe was on. The on-air concern trollery emitting from Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough, along with their MSNBC sidekicks (Pat Buchanan and Harold Ford) about whether Obama has lost his mojo is completely ridiculous.

The concern of the AM is whether Obama can "make a comeback" during the convention after what they feel was a catastrophic performance at the Saddleback Forum in answering the "values" questions, specifically about abortion. McCain supposedly had a cake walk in the fundie forum, and that he's cruising in the polls because of his mastery of the evangelical issues(!).

The conversation between hit a new low when Pat "A Brief for Whitey" Buchanan moved into boxing and sports metaphors to describe plight, calling Obama a "kid" and a "natural athlete" who is being pawed into submission by the masterful tactics of the seasoned workhorse McCain, rather than being punched out.

I'm not sh*tting you.

DNC: Prologue

The convention experience opened with a champagne brunch at the Governor's Mansion for the Colorado delegation. It started at 11:30--while I was still in church--but we managed to make it by 12:30. The Governor has a nice pad! Then, we went downtown to check into our delegation hotel--the Grand Hyatt. The Georgia delegation must be staying here also since I saw Cong. John Lewis (D-GA), a hero of the civil rights movement, in the lobby. I chatted with him on the sidewalk in front of the Wyndham Hotel in Boston four years ago, which, surprisingly, judging by the look of recognition that crossed his face, he appeared to remember.
