Pam’s House Blend in NY Times on DNCC Black Blogger Coverage
JJP is thrilled to be heading to Denver to cover the Democratic National Convention. My grandfather went to the 1968 Republican Convention as a delegate. For him, the Republican party was then still the party that freed his father from slavery. 40 years later, times have changed and I’m representing my black family and yours in a different capacity with a different party affiliation.
I agree with Francis Holland who says of black bloggers:
Will KUSA allow Beauprez and Owens to use misinformation in their DNC commentaries?
In an August 19 posting on its website about coverage of the August 25-28 Democratic National Convention, KUSA 9News stated, "9News viewers and 9News.com visitors will also get the Republican perspective all week, including daily interviews with former Colorado Gov. Bill Owens and former Rep.
Working to Bring Denver to Your Computer

By Tim Reese
We have been busy getting ready for Denver. I leave Saturday by plane. Calvin will be coming up by car and we have been busy preparing for a hectic week.
Most of our readers know that we have opened temporary shop here at DenverOkie.com. This site will be dedicated to convention coverage because the software that the page operates on is more friendly with other bloggers across the nation. Lively discussion will still happen at good old DemoOkie.com. Readers will still get the regularly scheduled emails like normal, however during convention week we will be putting out the email daily, or so we hope.
DemoOkie joined with 57 other “State Bloggers”. I guess the DNC has granted statehood to Puerto Rico and American Samoa”. It started with Yanque Mike, from Argentina. He will be blogging for the Americans Abroad. Using the internet, Mike researched contact information and reached out to bloggers from across America (including territories and possessions). I called Mike and had a great chat with him. He used the internet to make the phone call. Man the world is getting smaller.
Map of Broadway, court place, etc.
It's the Pepsi Center location that's odd, not the media pass pick-up locations. Here's the deal in writing, I've made to maps (links below so you can visualize it in case viewing maps is easier than reading words). 1. Since the media credentials have to be picked up daily by 1pm, it's unlikely you will be going directly from the credentials pickup location to the Pepsi Center. You would miss all the other events going on downtown. But, if you are, don't forget your media passes will allow you on the Delegate buses from the hotels to the Pepsi Center. That includes the Sheraton (for 1st day). For remaining days, the Warwick Hotel at 17th/Grant is right near the 18th/Sherman pickup Utah is staying at the Warwick. 2. The first day's credentials get picked up at the Sheraton at 16th & Court. That's right on the 16th St. mall route where there are free shuttles going to the rest of downtown and the Pepsi Center. 3. From or heading East, the dividing Street for downtown is Broadway. The streets run at a different angle past Broadway. Coming from the East, Court Place is the first street into downtown. The Sheraton is right there. Leaving downtown, going East, the streets go :Broadway, Lincoln, Sherman, Grant, Logan, in that order. So Sherman is only 2 blocks East of Broadway. 4.
