Jamie Wall is the first, and perhaps will be the only Democrat, to get in the race against freshman GOP Rep. Reid Ribble in the 8th Congressional District, in the Green Bay area.

Politico says, "Democrats think he's a great recruit-Wisconsin bred, grew up on a dairy farm, first in his family to go to college (Madison grad/Rhodes Scholar) and now a business owner... Democratic strategists say he can wage a serious challenge to the freshman congressman. They plan to attack Ribble for moving outside the district and for not voting in recent Wisconsin elections. Ribble beat Steve Kagen last year."

More from Green Bay Press Gazette and The Hill.

Wall, 40, lost a 2006 primary race to Kagen, who was elected and served two terms.

Race for Baldwin's House seat shaping up as one to watch

There is quite a primary shaping up in the 2nd Congressional District, which includes Madison, for the seat Tammy Baldwin will vacate next year.

Two Democratic state reps, both great candidates, are mounting the strongest early campaigns.

Kelda Roys has just gotten EMILYS List backing. Mark Pocan has the national Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund endorsement.

When Baldwin ran, she had them both -- as she already does in her race for the US Senate next year.

This is going to be one to watch.

Does Rick Perry Have A Guy Hunt Problem?

September 21, 2011 by Left in Alabama

Former Alabama Governor Guy Hunt used state planes to jet around the South & preach at Primitive Baptist churches.  That disclosure led to an ethics investigation & trial that removed him from office. Texas Governor Rick Perry is also a frequent flier on his state's dime.  But instead of preaching the Word, Perry goes on vacations & jets to campaign events - with a taxpayer-funded security detail in tow.

During a year when overworked firefighters are buying their own fuel and equipment, there was one state program where Perry saw no need to economize: himself.

The Houston Chronicle reported on Saturday:
