The Billionaires Have Us Right Where They Want Us

I had an epiphany this morning. The wealthy in America have us right where they want us. I was watching a video of Michael Moore at a rally in San Francisco and it came to me. This won't be easy to hear, dear readers, but mark my words, Dick Armey, Americans for Prosperity, and the health care executives and pharmaceutical executives who make multimillion dollar salaries are having a good laugh at our expense.

The “Outing” of Tavis Smiley

September 19, 2009 by Jack and Jill P...

No difference between the Real Pimp and the “Civic” Leader. Check out the logos behind Tavis.

And what I mean by that is he has officially been “outed” as not being the Civic Leader he has marketed himself to be.

I’ve already said that, but it bears repeating: I don’t care if you’re getting your HUSTLE on, but do us all a favor and call it what it is: A HUSTLE.  Additionally, don’t call your hustle CIVIC LEADERSHIP when the only Civic Leader that appears to benefit is YOU.

For those of you who have commented about how Wells Fargo Bank is a big sponsor of those Annual Negro Super Bowls, aka, the “State of the Black Union”, some mucky mucks from that organization are the ones doing the “outing“:

Tele-Town Hall with Gus Bilirakis

The things I do for this blog! Last night my representative (ha!), Congressman Gus Bilirakis, held a conference call town hall meeting on healthcare reform. I decided to participate in order to take the pulse of those on the call, as well as to hear the latest GOP talking points on healthcare from Gus so I could share my findings with you.

These were my take-aways:

–Talking Point 1 – “President Obama’s plan/bill” Despite the fact that the president has taken a hands-off approach and let Congress write the bill, it’s his bill.

–Talking Point 2 – “rank and file Democrats” This was used more than once to distinguish between ordinary Dems (Gus LIKES some Democrats) and the Dem leadership such as Nancy Pelosi and Henry Waxman. Gotta demonize those San Francisco/California liberals!

–Talking Point 3 – “Democrats won’t listen to Republicans. I wish we could have civilized discussions.” Maybe Democrats will be “civilized” when Republicans stop calling them Communists, Socialists, Nazis and Fascists.

–Talking Point 4 – “The public option would ration care.” I won’t comment on the obvious.

–Talking Point 5 – “Tort reform” will solve everything.
