Is Your Driver's License on File with your Water Company?

Because here in post Beason-Hammon Alabama, it's apparently no documents, no water.

Is this rule only for brown people in Alabama, or does everyone in the state now have to trundle down to the utility department, kill time in yet another Beason line and present a current, valid driver's license to maintain the privilege of buying water from them?  The former is obviously unconstitutional and discriminatory, the latter is one more insane boondoggle courtesy of Scott Beason and Micky Hammon.

When I was campaigning for Barack Obama (then Senator), I encountered very few opponents. However, I notice that most people did not ask why I was campaigning for Obama. I soon found out the reason. Most people assumed I was campaigning for Obama because he is black and I am black. However, nothing was further from the truth. During 2008 I saw report after report detailing how most African Americans were voting for Obama because he was black. However; if you look back in history, anyone can see how this is false.

It is true that Barack Obama rallied many new Black voters. However, they did not vote for him just because he is black. Barack Obama carried 95% of the Black Vote because he was "Black and Qualified". Anyone that suggest African Americans will just vote for the "black guy" possesses hostile social attitudes. This suggests Black Voters cannot think for themselves. This suggests Black Voters do not watch the news or know what is going on around them. This is racial slap in the face. Now we have proof of this.

State Sen. Trip Pittman (R) Puts Best Face on Federal Subpoena

Trip Pittman's spot of oil spill profiteering has netted him a federal subpoena, but he's putting on a happy face ...

“They always say in an investigation you don’t want to be the one left out, so I have been served, and I feel better now,” Pittman, R-Montrose, said Wednesday. “I went through the bingo situation (in Montgomery) with all those subpoenas flying around. I actually was subpoenaed. That was the first federal subpoena I had ever gotten. I was pretty nervous about it. But when you want to worry is when you don’t get a federal subpoena.”

If a subpoena makes him feel so good, imagine what an indictment would do.  The subpoena is actually for documents at Pittman's tractor company, which got $639,000 from an oil spill cleanup fund that was partially overseen by Pittman.

Poor? Unemployed? It's Your Own Damned Fault!

Republican frontrunner Herman Cain:

"If you don't have a job and you are not rich, blame yourself!"

I'm tempted to say something about so-called compassionate conservatism here, but I'll content myself with asking why the hell is it that the free market gods (otherwise known as "job creators") get all the credit for any economic good news, but presto change-o, when there are 5 applicants for every job and real wages for workers haven't increased since 1975, when all the economic gains of the past 30 years have gone to the super-rich, why the hell do Republicans then turn around and blame it on the workers?  It makes no sense to give the "job creators" a get out of jail free card when things turn to crap and it's positively mean-spirited to tell unemployed and underemplyed workers in this economy that it's their own damned fault.
