Dear Alabama,
How are you doing today? How has your week gone? Are you happy this week? Are you sad? I have to tell you that I am very disappointed at you. I do not like what you have allowed others to do.
Lovely Alabama, why are you following the actions of others? Is it really wise for you to upstage Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina, and others? Why are you trying to be like others? Alabama I love you, but you are starting to worry me.
Do you remember when another Dr. said "I have a dream that one day, down in Alabama, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of interposition and nullification; one day right there in Alabama, little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers." ?
Do you remember that? Do you remember when my father was born and you labled him a "negro" and not black on his birth certificate? Now you have another Dr. telling you that certain people in this state (who are here illegally) should have their families destroyed. This Dr. is telling you that kids (who are here legally) should go to a strange land so they can stay together as a family, while that same Dr. says he is for family values. Now you have a Dr. telling you that you are sick, you are suffering from a financial flu that was caused by someone who shares his same beliefs.
Sweet Alabama, tell me why you would want to listen to this Dr.? Alabama, there are times when you should say enough is enough. It is time for Alabama to mean something positive and not something negative. Alabama, when will you understand?
I love you, but I will not stand for much more of your foolishness. I did not represent you on the waters of the Persian Gulf for this. I am a fighter, so when will you do the same thing?
Sincerly,
One of your blessed children
