State Representative Patricia Todd (of district 54 in Jefferson County) will be speaking to the Madison County Democratic Women this Thursday, October 6. Rep. Todd, recognized for her tenacity relative to social justice and poverty issues, was elected to the Alabama Legislature in 2006 after a extremely contentious political fight over her right to the Democratic nomination. She sponsored legislation to establish the Alabama Commission to Reduce Poverty and serves as its chair.
