Public Forum to Focus on Regional Water Conservation and Stormwater Management
Clean Wisconsin, Alliance for the Great Lakes and The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company
Join Forces to Host Public Discussion on Protecting and Preserving Wisconsin’s Waterways
What: On October 5, 2011, Clean Wisconsin, the Alliance for the Great Lakes and The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company will host a public forum discussing the critical role homeowners can play in addressing water quality issues affecting Lake Michigan and the hundreds of lakes, rivers and streams in southeastern Wisconsin. The forum will highlight steps residents can implement in their own households and landscapes to help protect and preserve the Great Lakes and Wisconsin’s waterways.
The forum, Urban Water Quality: Community-Based Solutions, aims to tackle issues from urban storm water management and green infrastructure, to steps homeowners and communities can take to help preserve the region’s precious water and natural resources for all generations. The Milwaukee forum is part of a multi-city homeowner education initiative sponsored by The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company in partnership with the Alliance for the Great Lakes.
Who: Invited participants include homeowners, landowners and managers, urban planners, landscape architects and contractors, watershed managers, community leaders and environmental advocates
