All you need to know about the latest "job creation" bill added to the special legislative session on jobs by Gov. Scott Walker:

People who successfully sue for injuries would earn a lower interest rate on their judgments than banks and credit card companies who take their customers to court, under a bill Gov. Scott Walker included in the upcoming special legislative session on jobs.

Is there more to Gilkes's resignation? Maybe, but maybe not, too

Keith Gilkes is leaving his post as the governor's chief of staff to return to his own political consulting business.

Is there more to it, like preparing for a John Doe investigation instead of a recall?  Maybe. Some of my friends certainly think so.  And they may be right.  A lot of Walker staffers are already knee-deep in it.

But I did the same thing as Gilkes, returning to my own consulting business after a two-year break as chief of staff to Mayor John Norquist.  "I don't do government, I do politics," I used to say, usually being careful to attribute the line to the late, legendary Dem consultant Paul Tully.

Gilkes' Facebook page offers a clue as to why he might be leaving, under employment:

On Monday, Governor Walker appeared on national tv with NBC's Brian Williams and claimed:

"Go back to all the statements I've made and I you'll never find one time when I've said anything but great things about our teachers."

I did a spit-take when I heard that... "never find one time"?!?

I knew that one needs to only go to Walker's website, where he says these "great things about our teachers":

"Wisconsin’s educational system is failing our children"

and really, really great thing:

"underperforming teachers cannot be allowed to continue to fail our children"

How do I know?  Because we busted Walker for making similar claims earlier this year and still have the webpage on the video below.

However, when I went back to his webpage this morning, the negative comments about teachers and the entire "education" section had been mysteriously removed from his website.

Hmmm... not very truthful behavior from Mr. Eagle Scout.
