GOP
The main reason for the downturn in both this nation and state's economy is that our leaders do not know how to read. I know this sounds funny, but think about it. History has proven that an unregulated market leads to economic turmoil. We did not learn our message in 1929 and again in 2008. However, with another issue, the State of Alabama has repeated another failed part of history.
Earlier this year Governor Bentley signed the Immigration Reform into to law. This bill is said to be the toughest in the nation. It seems the GOP and Governor Bentley followed the guidelines of Arizona, North Carolina, and Georgia. However, the Governor did not understand the end results.
The Immigration Reform Bill has played havoc on various state economies. North Carolina passed an Immigration Reform Bill over the Governor's Veto and had to quickly reform the bill. Depsite this Georgia passed a similar law and found itself in the same boat. Now the State of Alabama can be added to this list.

Scott FitzgeraldWith all the problems and challenges facing our allegedly bankrupt state, where joblessness is rampant and major infrastructure projects on hold, why is the Wisconsin Senate planning to "earn" its pay by meeting only one day in the entire month of September?
According to Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald, it's the fault of, who else, the Democratic Party.
Fitzgerald, a Juneau Republican, explained it to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel this way:
[He] said the Senate is slow to get started because of the recalls. Senators didn't have time to work on legislation as they focused on campaigns, and leaders had to reshuffle committees after the elections reshaped the makeup of the Senate and narrowed the Republican majority to one vote.
Prince Reince says the Repubs just need ONE MORE House seat to really, really be obstructionist
The headbanger in chiefReince Pribus, former Wisconsin GOP leader and now leader of the whole national Republican wingnut shebang, says in an email to friendlies that dire times are just ahead because Democrats once again are trying to actually pass legislation. Thus, it's very, very, very, very important to send money to the impoverished Republican Party so it can add ONE more House seat and thus change the entire political landscape of the nation. Never minding that the GOP enjoys a tremendous majority in the House already, PRibus (that's not a typo) emails:
