Finally, movement! Design work on the new Gays Mills Community Commerce Center, including the shared-use commercial kitchen we have been working for, will begin this week. Two of us from the Kickapoo Kitchen Project, Russell Gilbert and I, have been appointed to the committee that will design the center, which will also contain a new library, village offices and a new meeting hall. Two mothers will share the story of their daughters' lives, death and continuing relationship at two Viroqua venues in August. Marianne Dietzel and Linda Bergh, former  Waldorf teachers, will give spiritually-oriented readings from their books, Laughing in a Waterfall: A Mother's Memoir and She Would Draw Flowers, on Thursday August 12 at 7 p.m. at The Turning Place, 304 S.
